June 09 Newsletter

Make time to stitch!

The weather is finally improving, thanks goodness! But it’s still
very variable here in the UK as we all know, so if you’re reading
this on a rainy day, why not put a bit more time into your
stitching, rather than worrying about when to put your washing out!

I’ve really enjoyed stitching my most recent project - the
Lamborghini Countach, which you can see here.  I think I
enjoyed stitching this more than any other design I’ve completed
recently. It was fairly simple, all whole stitches and quite a few
blocky areas, but then parts were a challenge, particularly on the
wheels. Also, it started to look really good early on, which is
always a bonus!

I’ve got a big job this summer, to mount quite a few of the
designs I’ve shown you in the newsletter over recent months before
we exhibit them at Alexandra Palace on October. Make sure you come
and have a look if you’re visiting the Knitting & Stitching Show
between 8th and 11th October!

June product spotlight

This month I really loved designing our new Go Cart design. It
uses 18 DMC colours, so buying a kit is definitely better value than
a chart, as you don’t have to buy a whole skein of every colour when
some of the shades only need a metre or two.

It’s great to be able to design in such wonderfully
bright colours, and I enjoy stitching in these lovely
shades too! The design measures 13.8” by 10.8” so it’s a
brilliant size for a wall design in a child’s bedroom.
Come to think of it, any big kid who’s into go carts
would love it too!

Stitchtastic fans

In the next couple of issues of the newsletter,
we’ll be featuring some of our customers who’ve
kindly agreed to let us show off their handiwork!

Regular visitors to Stitch & Craft at Olympia and
The Knitting & Stitching Show at Ally Pally
are Mr & Mrs Waters from Essex.  They always
have something very special to show off - our
designs stitched onto T-shirts.

Mr Waters has kindly modelled 2 designs here. The
top picture shows his Norton Dominator T shirt. The
detail that’s come out using the t-shirt material is
fantastic! The lower picture shows a design of an
old BSA Bantam. We joked that Mr Waters should carry
a big sign around the show telling people where to
get our designs from!

If you’d like to bring any of your completed
Stitchtastic designs to the shows we exhibit at,
we’d love to see you. If you don’t mind modelling
for a picture or two, you could be the star of a
newsletter too.

Oh, and Mr & Mrs Waters - I’ve not forgotten
about the Brough Superior design I promised you -
it’ll be ready for Ally Pally!

July’s newsletter will feature another Stitchtastic fan, and
we’ll also have some information for you on washing your completed
cross stitch work.

If you’d like to be featured in our newsletter,
please e-mail me at sarah@stitchtastic.co.uk, preferably
with a picture of your stitching!
